I was the lucky winner of the trip for two with Bob from the " Fork's Raffle ".

What a great time! My son (Wormie Hermie) an I met Bob for breakfast, and the fun for us started right there.

While hermie is a somewhat experienced steelheader in decent shape, I'm an old, obese, crippled up, smart mouthed, has been of a deep sea fisherman. (Bob had his hands full) \:D

I had never been in a drift boat before, and I'm pretty sure Bob had never had one of my size and inexperience in his before. I never had a clue that it was a problem! Bob is an extremely talented, helpful, entertaining, knowledgeable, guide! While it was my first driftboat experience, it was not my first chartered trip. It was the best! The water was very low (Bob said) but we had full time action!
Never tied into a really big one, but it wasn't for lack of effort. We fished every drift at least 2 times and many 3 or 4 times,( had a little problem teaching me the diff btween 3/4s of the way to the bank and on the bank or in the back of the boat or around the oar) only thing I didn't catch was the guide or my son, and that wasn't from lack of trying!

Thanks Bob You ARE the Man! \:D

Sounds like you guys had fun! When I fished with GoHarley a few weeks back he had only good things to say about Bob.

After fishing with GoHarley, I only have good things to say about him too, except that he can't keep up with me on the river I know I pushed ya that day, but you held up purdy good! I'll tell you all one thing, GoHarley brews up some damn fine beer. How much for a sixer of that Chocolate stout Rick?

Bob we had a great time fishing with you, I'm not surprised to consitantly hear this from your other clients. Hopefully next time I see you it wont be under such icy cold frozen conditions. Thinking back about that day...BRRRrrrr!

Yeah, Ryley, you had me beating some brush that day. Man, I forgot how much work that was. Owning a boat can make a guy lazy and out of shape. \:D

As far as beer is concerned, I've always got something here I can bottle up. Teach me how to catch some of these stupid summer kings in the sound and I'll bring beer. ;\)

I actually felt pretty damn good the next day. My shoulder can actually bother me after simply casting all day, though. I have this thing about taking any drugs, so I don't even do that herbal stuff for joints and ligaments. Probably should.

I've decided that in a couple years I'll get rid of the sled and buy an ocean boat and driftboat.

The way the river fisheries are going anyway I'm not sure the driftboat will even be worth buying in a few years. \:\(
